The Role

We are looking for a product-minded Senior Mobile Engineer to take proactive ownership of our native mobile experience, with a primary focus on iOS. The app is the main way our end users interact with the Zevoy platform—handling everything from receipt capture to 3D Secure approvals—making it a critically important part of our service.

Because new mobile features often require underlying system changes, this role is highly cross-functional. You won't just be building UI from heavily specified tickets. We need someone who thinks deeply about system architecture, gives proactive input on code structure before a project is built, and isn't afraid to dive into our Go/GraphQL backend to ensure features are robust from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End System Ownership: Drive mobile features from initial discovery and backend API design to app deployment and monitoring. You care about how your code behaves in the real world, not just in the simulator.
• Proactive Architecture: Give strong, well-reasoned opinions on code structure and system architecture before we start building, preventing tech debt rather than fixing it later.
• Backend Collaboration: Work seamlessly across the stack. When a mobile feature requires a backend change, you are comfortable diving into our Go/GraphQL services to build or modify the necessary endpoints.
• AI-Leveraged Engineering: Use modern AI coding assistants to multiply your output. You understand that AI handles the boilerplate, but you own the architecture and the ultimate quality of the pull request.
• Balance Velocity with System Health: Deliver high-value, iteratively shippable increments while maintaining our standards for UI/UX, source code quality, and mobile application stability.

What You Bring

Must-Haves:

• Solid Mobile Core: Deep engineering experience building, maintaining, and deploying native iOS applications using Swift.
• Backend Capability: Strong experience with—or a highly motivated willingness to learn—our backend stack (Go and GraphQL). You understand how mobile apps communicate with event-driven infrastructure.
• Product-Minded Ownership: You don't just close tickets. You thrive when working autonomously, understanding the business logic (e.g., claims, benefits, receipts), and ensuring what you ship genuinely solves customer problems.
• Language Skills: Excellent spoken and written English. We’re a highly collaborative international team.
• On-Site Commitment: You are able to work from our Erottaja office in Helsinki 4 days per week to keep feedback loops short and collaboration fast-paced.

Nice-to-Haves:

• The Ultimate Bonus: Solid engineering experience with Android using Kotlin. (We highly value T-shaped mobile developers!).
• Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with AWS and an understanding of event-driven or serverless architecture (e.g., EventBridge, Lambda).
• Experience with mobile security best practices, particularly regarding Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) and PSD2 compliance.
• Experience with automated testing and mobile CI/CD pipelines.
• Previous experience in expense management, payments, or fintech.
